The Madras High Court had ordered the dismissal of 54 Junior Assistants who were irregularly appointed in the Coimbatore Corporation during the AIADMK regime. While an appeal was filed in the Supreme Court challenging this ruling, the apex court upheld the High Courts verdict. Furthermore, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal filed against the High Courts judgment.
