“The ban on tapping toddy is a policy decision of the government. There is a possibility of fatalities occurring due to adulteration of the toddy,� the Tamil Nadu government submitted before the Madurai Bench of the High Court. The government furnished this response in a case seeking the lifting of the ban on toddy tapping.
