Writer Aspire Swaminathan stated that reports have emerged regarding a scheme to distribute packaged cakes worth ₹9.27 crore to approximately 61.84 lakh students on the occasion of Childrens Day. He noted that while no one opposes bringing joy to children, the issue here goes beyond the cake itself; it is the massive scale of the scheme that is a cause for concern.
