Vijay arrived in Madurai today to launch the Thaimaman Thanga Mothiram (Maternal Uncles Gold Ring) scheme. Due to his visit, barricades were erected along both sides of the road for a distance of 44.7 km. Criticisms have arisen stating that a large amount of money was spent on this and that it was all a waste.
