P Shanmugam: Minister Nirmal Kumar had claimed that P. Shanmugam, Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPM], admitted to him that he had provided incorrect information regarding the Gem Veeramani sexual misconduct case. However, P. Shanmugam has stood firm on the allegation and retorted that it was the TVK government that attempted to have the case closed.
