Two murders have occurred in quick succession within a single day across the Nellai and Tenkasi districts. Near Valliyur in Nellai, a panchayat president was beaten to death with a stone following a dispute over the lack of water supply to a house. Similarly, near Kadayam in Tenkasi, a young man was beheaded in the presence of the public. The police are investigating both incidents.
