While there were expectations that the agriculture budget presented by the Tamil Nadu government would uplift farmers livelihoods, the Tamil Nadu Farmers Protection Association held a protest in Nagapattinam district, terming it a completely disappointing budget. Farmers raised slogans while wearing towels draped over their heads.
